Vice President of Analytics
My client, a fast-growing, established e-tailer is looking for a VP of Analytics (within an e-commerce environment). This company is seeking a strategic thinker and team player who is equally comfortable presenting to senior leadership and rolling up his or her sleeves and pulling data from a database. The role will cultivate relationships with numerous teams, internal and external alike, to elevate the brand by strengthening an analytical foundation where one already exists or introducing one where it doesn't. Must be comfortable working on the leading edge of technology and staying in control of an extremely fast-paced environment. Must also be able to explain advanced statistical concepts for non-technical audiences. Other requirements include strong interpersonal skills, as well as business acumen and a healthy dose of curiosity and ingenuity. Strong leadership experience a must, as this role will supervise a core analytics team and reports to the Chief Customer and Digital Officer.
Lead and manage the Analytics team, recruit and develop talent, and build strategy and processes to effectively create and deliver data and analytics insights and products
Lead the team to drive company-level data strategies and maximize business impact, working cross-functionally to identify growth and ROI-driving opportunities
Weigh in on the development of key performance indicators for the organization
Actively propose business initiatives based on findings of the analytics team
Perform in-depth analysis, including augmenting our data, to collaborate with leadership and inform strategy for the organization
Effectively communicate and 'translate' quantitative findings (storytelling with data)
Accountable for the quality of data analytics for high-priority cross-functional projects at RTR. Staffing these projects to enable a data-driven decision making process.
Partner with external vendors and internal team leaders to design proper analytics frameworks
Apply commercial leadership to data science and identify key areas in the business for automation and artificial intelligence
Manage the User experience and content strategy for Benefits' sites' internal sponsors, including Card Products, Customer Benefits, and Cards Marketing teams
Lead the design of insight-driven digital strategies from opportunity identification through development of customer-centric journeys
Create and enhance site design, layout, content and navigation to provide a highly relevant and engaging site experience
Partner with program management, agencies, vendors, and internal IT teams to scope, design, develop, and deploy new web site experiences
Integrate web site analytics, user research, and persona definitions to inform web and design process
Ensure site development and enhancements comply with Expense, Legal, Control and Compliance requirements including ADA compliance
Influence executive management (C-suite) to define and execute analytics and site testing road map to support key business initiatives
Own and develop the strategic analytic agenda across multiple lines of business to unlock insights and guide the business - everything from identifying, testing and optimizing new features to broad level strategic direction that is grounded in data evidence and heavy analytical rigor.
Proactively identify areas where analytical efforts can produce a strong business value add and setting the analytics road map.
Align with senior leadership to define and develop the data and analytic solutions road map for the company's most important initiatives
Own and develop long term product strategy and delivery of data products, for stakeholder groups across the site.
Develop a strategic working relationship with cross-functional leaders and align these solutions to their KPI's, levers, strategy, and business goals.
Build, lead and mentor a team of highly talented data professionals working with petabyte-scale data sets and rigorous SLAs
Bachelors in a quantitative field and 8+ years of relevant professional experience, with a background in some combination of ecommerce analytics, marketing and/or growth analytics, supply chain analytics, and demand forecasting and at least 5+ years of managing a team of analysts and/or data scientists; Master's degree a plus
Strong understanding of data management tools, including SQL, Python, and Google Analytics
Experience in a subscription business is a plus
Able to partner with key cross-functional areas to drive insights from analysis to conclusion
Eager to roll up your sleeves and dig into any problem in a fast-paced startup environment
Strong ability to understand business priorities, recognize leverage in analytics projects, and prioritize appropriately
Use of online performance metrics to identify opportunities for enhanced digital experience
Proven ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
