Vice President - Commercial Closing & Administration Manager

Our client, a regional bank in Pittsburgh, needs an Administrative Manager for Loan closings. This position will work closely with external clients and various internal partners to ensure a best-in-class experience for our commercial prospects and clients. This position will be responsible for leading and supporting C&I/Commercial Real Estate Closing process and CRE Administration team ensuring quality and productivity standards are met or exceeded. The ideal candidate will have significant commercial loan closing and/or administration, and recent managerial oversight of a commercial closing team, loan administration group or loan operations department. This position will also require thoughtful approaches to client engagement and experience, re-engineering of processes, strategic change management, policy and procedure updates and reviews of all key controls. Internal partners include Relationship Managers, Credit/Portfolio Managers, Legal, Compliance/Risk, and Bank Operations. The focus of our company is to provide sophisticated expertise of large financial services companies with the high touch client experience of boutique firms, and this position and the related teams are a strong part of our ability to achieve that. These teams are highly complimented by our clients and internal partners.
The responsibilities of this position include:
• Strong client engagement and experience throughout the closing and administration phases.
• Managing C&I/CRE loan closings and ongoing administration of those loans by fulfilling those requests within stated SLAs
• Working closely with other loan operations managers and teams
• Active involvement in building out and implementing technology to streamline processes
• Managing audit and compliance activities
• Fostering a culture of continuous improvement (client experience, productivity and quality); managing KPIs and KRIs
• Coaching, developing and structuring the team to best support the line of business
• Managing key client deadlines and internal SLAs that impact external & internal users
• Participating actively in projects and understanding what is new in the industry

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7 to 10 years banking related experience, including operations management
• 5+ years in a current/recent management role
• Knowledge of loan documentation and commercial lending regulations
• Extensive experience in administering construction loans including reviewing draw requests and daily work
• Demonstrated knowledge in the review and negotiation of loan documents
• Demonstrated knowledge in reviewing construction due diligence documentation, processes and vendor relationships, including Plan and Cost Reviews, Construction Contracts, Payment and Performance Bonds, Inspection Reports, Budgets
• Experience in the issuance and ongoing monitoring of Letters of Credit
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrates strong work ethic and ability to be self-directed
• Demonstrates analytical and problem solving capabilities
• Ability to motivate and develop self and others
• Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced, team-oriented work environment and adapt quickly to changing circumstances
• Ability to embrace new technologies and automation

He started in the business with AFCO Personnel Services in 1970 and after two years was appointed manager and then managing partner. Joe merged AFCO Personnel Services in 1983 at which time he and Mike DeBellis founded DeBellis & Catherine Associates. Joe attended SUNY at Buffalo studying liberal arts and sociology. He was active with the Niagara Falls & Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, executive committee for the Porter Cup amateur golf tournament and was on the St. Mary's Hospital Foundation Board of Directors.  He is currently an active member with the Williamsville Rotary Club.
