Job Description

With 10+ years of experience in the logistics and freight forwarding industry, you’ll lead logistics operations including ocean, air freight, and inland transportation.

Your strategic leadership and operational expertise will be a key driver of the success of the department while ensuring customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing:
You will be responsible for creating long and short-term strategies that are in line with companywide goals.
 
Create tactical approaches for efficiency in freight routes, load consolidation, and transportation models.
 
You’ll develop KPIs and implement processes and procedures for smooth order processing, tracking, reporting, minimizing transit time, reducing costs, and enhancing overall efficiency.
 
You will evaluate supplier performance and transportation management systems (TMS).
 
Ensure the customer’s needs and expectations are met related to freight operations and address any concerns promptly.
 
Oversee freight costs, find opportunities to reduce costs, and manage rate negotiation and route optimization.
 
You will identify risks and disruptions in the freight network and develop strategies to mitigate those risks while implementing contingency plans for any unforeseen events.
 
Manage reporting and analytics and deliver updates to senior management.
 
You will manage and mentor a team while setting clear expectations, providing guidance, and leading professional development.
 
What You’ll Need for Success:

  • You should have at least 10 years of experience in freight operations and logistics management
  • 5 years of leadership and team management experience
  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related.
  • Prior experience using TMS and logistics software.
  • Understanding of freight industry landscape and knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance, and safety standards in freight operations.
  • Mandarin preferred but not required.
  • The ability to commute to City of Industry, CA, Houston, TX, or El Pasto, TX office daily.

 
The base salary range for this role is $100, 000 to $130, 000 with flexibility based on experience. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
