Litigation Paralegal

Position Summary:
The Litigation Paralegal provides critical support to attorneys by managing case documents, preparing legal filings, and ensuring deadlines are met. This role involves a mix of drafting, case organization, and direct client and expert interaction. Works under general supervision with room to take initiative on assigned matters.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and correspondence.

  • Review and analyze case files to identify missing or required documents;coordinate with clients to obtain necessary materials.

  • Process and review discovery materials, including medical and employment authorizations.

  • Summarize medical records and organize case evidence and exhibits.

  • Coordinate and schedule Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs).

  • Prepare subpoenas and arrange service of process.

  • Perform electronic filings in state and federal courts (E-filing).

  • Support attorneys with appellate brief and record preparation.

  • Communicate with clients, healthcare providers, and expert witnesses on substantive issues.

  • Track deadlines and support overall case management and file organization.

  • Perform other billable and administrative tasks as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or paralegal certification (required).

  • 1 3 years of relevant paralegal experience, preferably in litigation.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

  • Professional discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential information.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
