Job Description
Our client, a busy and collaborative small law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support our team across litigation, construction, and labor & employment matters. This role is approximately 70% legal assistant work and 30% paralegal responsibilities, making it a great fit for someone who thrives in a hands-on support role but has experience or interest in higher-level casework.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, edit, and format legal documents and correspondence
- Manage attorney calendars, schedule depositions and hearings
- E-file documents in state and federal courts
- Maintain and organize case files, discovery materials, and pleadings
- Assist with document review, basic legal research, and preparation for trial
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a legal assistant or hybrid legal assistant/paralegal role
- Familiarity with litigation procedures and court filings (state and federal)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience or exposure to construction law and/or labor & employment law a plus
