Our multinational client has an immediate opening in their Niagara Falls location. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Lab Manager is a very hands-on position that has some strategic elements, along with supervisory responsibility for 4 direct reports.

The company runs four manufacturing plants located in Ohio, West Virginia, Alabama and New York and markets products to more than 160 customers, predominantly in North America. The products are critical inputs in the manufacture of a wide range of industrial and consumer products with growing markets, including silicone compounds, aluminum, photovoltaic solar cells, electronic semiconductors, ductile iron, automotive parts, industrial pipe and steel. Manufacturing facilities are designed and managed to be highly flexible, enabling a varying product mix according to market demand.

Responsibilities:

The Lab Manager is responsible to maintain current analytical procedures and in the future development of new procedures that are used in the laboratory. The Lab Manager is responsible for the purchasing of laboratory equipment and supplies and the maintenance of present laboratory equipment for an efficient operation, reporting all final results to the appropriate parties, and for laboratory functions related to the cooling water systems.

College degree: BA, BS, (course load required for at least 4 year degree in chemistry with minor in math or computer science), along with 4-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be someone with XRF (X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry) experience and ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma) experience.
