Be a part of a historic and evolving neighborhood of Philadelphia through leading operations, capital projects, and strategic planning of their private, unregulated electric grid.

This grid supports over 180+ customer accounts and is part of a greater expansion plan for development that will support over 12, 000 jobs and $6B in investment from the City of Philadelphia. As an experienced utility manager with strong business acumen, you’ ll lead their electric utility division working closely with real estate and site operations teams and reporting to the SVP.

Your Responsibilities:
You will need knowledge of utility tariffs, commodities and distribution systems along with exceptional project management and communication skills to effectively manage the relationships with key stakeholders.

Identifying and advancing sustainability and resiliency solutions will be important in this position.
From an operations standpoint, you’ ll manage the third-party utility operator, procure and manage electricity and natural gas commodity supply and cost, and optimize generation/storage assets to maintain competitive rates.

You’ ll coordinate with the SVP, third party-utility operator, and select customers to develop and manage a fiscally sustainable, phased capital growth program.

You will be tasked with optimizing and managing operating budgets, capital budgets, and monthly reports while overseeing customer billing, tariff, contracts, payables, accounting, and reporting.

Continuously identify and pursue funding opportunities to advance capital programs and adjust grid expansion plan to align with development schedules.
 
What you Need for Success:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related.
  • You’ ll need at least 7 years within the utilities industry.
  • Prior experience with financial management, budgeting, and reporting along with direct experience managing consulting teams and large-scale capital projects.

 
Where You’ ll Be:

  • This position requires at least 3 days per week in office in the South Philadelphia  area.
  • This person must have a Philadelphia primary address or a commitment to relocate in the next 6 months.
