Responsible for supporting our Continuous Improvement strategy and implementation within the Company’s operations. Identify, prioritize and deliver Continuous Improvement Programs to drive improved Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. Promotes change with a methodical data-driven approach with emphasis on root cause problem solving and sustaining improvements. Works to instill a continuous improvement culture that increases operational efficiency, profitability, competitive advantage through process improvements, and identification of best practices. Will establish, inspire and work as a full time member of plant improvement teams to become champions in the reduction of equipment minor stops, and breakdowns, while optimizing product changeovers. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager, and indirectly to the Regional Manager of CI (corporate), and has no direct reports.

Responsibilities:

Leads the plan, policies, procedures, programs, projects and objectives of a continuous improvement environment such as Kaizen events, OEE, 5S, 8 Wastes, Changeovers, etc.
Trains associates on the use of lean tools and techniques while participating as a team member.
Develops a continuous improvement culture that increases operational efficiency, profitability, competitive advantage through process improvements, and identification of best practices.
Works closely with the Plant Manager to establish plant improvement teams for leading Operational
Responsiveness, Preventative Maintenance, and Changeover Optimization efforts.
Identifies, recommends, and implements changes to improve operations, productivity, efficiency, reduce cost, and material usage variances.
Analyzes opportunities, conducts gap assessment, and guides creation of action plans for improvement in safety, quality, people, and productivity initiatives.
Coordinates CI efforts and programs related to OEE & 16 Losses, including performance measurements.
Assures compliance to lean operating principles, monitors performance and improvements, makes modifications, establishes metrics, and reports progress.
Functions as the plant’s experts on CI tools and techniques including TPM (Total Productive
Maintenance), Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Kaizen.
Assist with securing resources and funding for projects

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree. In technical (i.e. engineering, science, or business) area preferred.
Minimum of:
o 3 or more years of experience preferably in food or beverage manufacturing
o 3 – 5 years of Continuous Improvement experience preferred
o 3+ years of experience/competency in and training Lean manufacturing tools, techniques,
methodologies, including Kaizen and 5S.
o Cradle to grave on Capital Projects. Knowledge on data collection, quotation, and submission of forms for approval for expenditure
Ability to:
o Communicate and lead through influence as well as work with and communicate across all levels of the plant.
o Work with abstract and complex concepts and able to communicate to others for ease of understanding.
o Manage time, projects, planning, priorities, meeting deadlines in constantly changing environment and still achieve business objectives.
o Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

High level of computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
Microsoft Dynamics AX / SAP experience strongly preferred.
