Associate Director, Business Analysis - Oncology

Lead efforts to ensure that the US Commercial organization has the necessary data, systems and frameworks to inform financial planning processes and track/diagnose ongoing performance of markets and brands across the dynamic, niche Oncology landscape. Liaise with Marketing Analytics and Business Insights colleagues to consolidate and prepare inputs to financial plans and to contextualize performance internally and externally (public relations/investor relations). Form strong partnerships with internal stakeholders/functions and external suppliers in order to perform position responsibilities.
Lead preparations for upcoming launches by identifying, recommending, procuring and implementing optimal means to size and measure market and brand performance on an ongoing basis in small, niche Oncology markets. Manage relationships with external vendors and work with internal departments such as Purchasing and Center (Data Operations) to negotiate with vendors to optimize Company investment. Secure funding via planning process and manage spending against plan.
Continually keep abreast of and assess/recommend new sources and approaches that may enhance Company Oncology understanding of market size, market and competitive dynamics, share and performance. Partner with the Center (Data Strategy) for evaluation of new supplier capabilities.
Lead development of key performance indicators and launch metrics. Provide a consistent framework to identify executive and franchise key performance indicators as well as additional metrics to diagnose launch performance that will identify opportunities and address barriers to success. Lead Marketing Analytics & Business Insights (MABI) efforts to develop benchmarks and set goals. Recommend means to integrate KPIs and additional launch metrics into launch trackers. Partner with Center (Data Strategy) to leverage technology solutions for reporting. Educate and socialize the organization as to key metrics and appropriate interpretation in consideration of sample sizes.
Develop and maintain a consistent framework for franchise reporting, with an integrated perspective across national and sub-national performance metrics. Collaborate with Emerging Analytics and Sales Ops/Planning to integrate and interpret personal/non personal execution metrics and pull these into franchise reporting.
Operationalize reporting to all levels of the organization, including executive level reporting led by the Center (Data Operations team) and franchise-specific reporting. Recommend content, audience and frequency. Ensure reporting-readiness by working with internal and external partners to onboard, quality check, and offer accessible user frameworks for multiple disciplines. Oversee creation of franchise reports.
Lead the US Marketing Analytics & Business Insights team in coordinating all inputs to inform internal planning processes (Long Range Plan, Annual Financial Plan and ongoing updates). Recommend key assumptions based on triangulation of available data sets, and, where necessary, identify and procure additional data/necessary analogs to inform assumptions. Prepare and package key assumptions in a format that is easy to digest and access. Catalog historical inputs, analogs and benchmarks for easy reference and recommend pertinent analogs/benchmarks based on market knowledge/experience base.
Coordinate and prepare MABI inputs to quarterly investor relations earnings calls that contextualize market and/or brand performance. Coordinate and formulate responses to internal (executive) and external (through Investor/Public Relations) questions pertaining to market and/or brand health/performance.
Collaborate seamlessly and navigate effectively across a matrix organization, with multiple customers and colleagues. Key interfaces will include: Commercial Insights, Commercial Analytics, Forecasting/Finance, Payor & Channel Insights, Sales Planning & Operations, Center Data Operations, Data Strategy & Analytics, Marketing, Public Relations, Investor Relations, Business Technology Solutions, and Global Marketing Analytics & Business Intelligence.
BA or BS degree required. Master's Degree in Market Research, Statistics or Finance a strong plus.
8+ years business analytics experience
Strong analytical skills and reasoning capabilities; understands the advantages and limits of different analytical approaches.
Excellent oral, written and presentation skills able synthesize and integrate multiple data sets and explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences
Strong data visualization skills.
Excellent project management skills
Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a highly matrixed environment.
Exhibits a high degree of intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving.
Possess a thorough understanding of available syndicated and custom data sources and their strengths and weaknesses in the Oncology space
