Job Description
Reporting to the Controller and working closely with the CFO, you will have the opportunity for growth and mentorship in your financial career.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll have supervisory responsibilities over accounting and treasury staff while working very closely with the Controller, COO, partners, attorneys, and administrative staff to ensure the accounting, finance, and treasury operations are working effectively.
You will prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial results and conduct general ledger journal entries, related reconciliations, variance analysis, etc.
Assist in monthly and year-end financial closing processes as well as the year-end audit and tax return filings performed by independent public accountants.
Responsible for accounting, compliance testing, and reporting of the Firm's benefit and pension plans, including 5500 filings, and the annual audit conducted by independent public accountants.
What You Need for Success:
- Minimum 4-6 years of business accounting experience.
- Experience in a supervisory role is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
- Public accounting and/or accounting for law firm experience preferred.
- Ability to commute to the downtown Buffalo office 5 days/week.
