Application Analyst / Database Engineer
Position Summary: The Application Analyst / Database Engineer supports and maintains the server applications and databases that the firm uses. This analyst will also develop and maintain ad-hoc queries, generic integrator settings, and custom reports. The Analyst also will work collaboratively within the team when needs arise.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Maintains the Aderant Expert system and the server applications that integrate with the Aderant solution
Maintains other SQL or MS Access databases that other programs might use
Maintains, troubleshoots, Aderant reports and inquiry forms
Develops SQL queries to pull data from the Aderant database
Troubleshoots, modifies, and creates reports and their underlying stored procedures using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Provides data for ad hoc requests from the Accounting, Marketing, and other teams
Provides support for ancillary systems that integrate with Aderant, including: Expert Image; ARCS; DF Tech / Iridium and Prebill Manager
Maintains Aderant Service Framework modules
Skills & Competencies:
High degree of familiarity with SQL, SSRS, and financial system database structure
In-depth and broad understanding of supporting applications and databases
Commitment to deadlines and willingness to meet the needs of a 24/7 environment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional, collaborative team
Analytical with strong problem-solving skills, takes initiative and uses good judgment, excellent follow-up skills
Qualifications & Prior Experience:
Bachelor's Degree preferred; equivalent experience considered
Minimum 2 years' experience supporting and customizing financial systems
Must have experience in working in a fast-paced law firm environment with diverse needs
Significant experience with legal financial applications (Aderant strongly preferred but Elite acceptable)
