Job Description
With a footprint in the Buffalo legal market for over 200 years, you’ll join a longstanding legal team that continues to expand in the WNY area as well as other markets.
You’ll play a crucial role overseeing all aspects of application software and technologies used across the law firm. With your strong understanding of how legal practice areas function, you’ll ensure the efficient and recommended use of software is being utilized companywide.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You’ll be the primary liaison for attorneys and staff for software, procedures, and technical matters. This includes delivering training and guidance to legal teams for best practices, software utilization, and data management techniques.
Any technical issues related to practice software, you’ll be tased with addressing.
You will provide crucial case management support, including E-Discovery requirements, and assist attorneys in preparing presentation documents, audio and video related for evidence during trials.
You’ll stay up to date on supported software and provide recommendations on technologies, and licensing arrangements.
Maintain procedural documentation regarding software, generate reports on metrics, and prepare technology budget for practice software.
What You’ll Need for Success:
- 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in technology legal support within a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Certifications in practice related technologies such as RCA, ACEDS, CCE, CCO, CCME, CCP, CCPA, are preferred but not required.
- Bachelors degree from accredited college or university.
- Knowledge of OPUS 2 platform preferred
- Ability to work onsite in downtown Buffalo office 5 days per week.
Qualifications:
·Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
·Certifications in practice related legal technologies, such as RCA, ACEDS, CCE, CCO, CCME, CCP, CCPA, are preferred but not required.
·Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite FTP, and text editors.
·Proficiency in administering legal practice software applications. Any experience with Opus2, Case Notebook, CaseMap, Trial Director, PageVault, and ThoughtRiver would be preferred but not required.
·In-depth knowledge of OPUS 2 platform both from a user viewpoint and support role is preferred.
·Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to troubleshoot technical issues.
·Exceptional communication skills enabling effective collaboration with legal teams, IT professionals, and external vendors.
·Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security with legal and ethical standards.
Flexible with a 2-3 days a week remote
The base salary range for this role is $80, 000-$85, 000 but there may be flexibility depending on previous experience. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
