Job Description
Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ ll oversee the credit granting process through optimizing company sales and reducing bad debt losses through the maintenance of the credit policy.
In this collaborative role, you’ ll build relationships with traders within company as well as external customers and develop the criteria for entablement of credit limits, granting credit, and the reevaluation of existing credit limits.
What You’ ll Be Doing:
You’ ll be responsible for reviewing all requests for credit and financing through processing information, investigating, and submitting opinions to management and traders.
Based on your experience and investigations, you’ ll review the current credit limits and make adjustments when necessary.
You will oversee the monthly and yearly physical inventory and planned cycle counts.
You’ ll review delinquent accounts weekly, working with traders to send notices and establish repayment plans and partner with the controller to recommend which accounts should be taken as bad debt.
You will need to stay current on industry trends for customers, understating input costs and market values for each group of products.
What You’ ll Need for Success:
- You will need at least 5 years of relevant experience within accounting/finance.
- Bachelors degree required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local credit and collection laws
- Strong skills in negotiations, leadership, and written/oral communications.
